PMI has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification

On 15th September 2016, following an initial gap analysis in February 2016 and a 2 stage assessment through April and August, PMI achieved registration to ISO 9001:2015.
Managing Partner, Susannah Clarke, explains why PMI went through the certification process;
We had a theory that for organisations who have robust systems, process management and improvement at the heart of their business, certification to the new ISO 9001:2015 would be straightforward.
To prove this theory, and in true PDSA style, we embarked on the ISO 9001:2015 certification process ourselves so we could understand the assessment journey and its requirements. We also wanted to make sure our own process management was robust from an auditors perspective. We are, therefore, delighted that our theory was proved and we have achieved our certificate of registration.
Process management and improvement provide the foundation thinking, approaches and methodologies required to successfully deploy and sustain the Quality Management Systems required by the new ISO 9001:2015 Standard.
During the assessment process, the auditor discovered that the tools PMI uses every day, both internally and with their clients, such as system mapping, documentation of processes, process ownership, process confirmation and the use of visual management systems to review processes, meant that PMI was in a great place to achieve certification.
Business process improvement methodology is part of our DNA. We apply it throughout our own system and, of course, with our clients. It was interesting that as we went through the certification process, things that we assumed were just ‘standard practice’ were seen as unusual by the assessor, such as process confirmation for learning and improvement.
This recent achievement is the latest in a series of endorsements and relationships PMI has established with some of the UK’s most prestigious organisations including, The University of Warwick, The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), Investors in People (IIP) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
