Business Improvement Strategy
What makes for a successful improvement and change strategy?
We have over 25 years’ experience helping clients around the world develop successful improvement strategies. PMI’s robust methodology brings clarity and structure to every aspect of both strategy development and implementation. Our support is based upon our Five Step Model for BPM Excellence. The model leads programme managers through the essential elements of a best practice programme which enables rapid progression on the BPM roadmap. See a larger image of the Five Step Model.
Selecting your priorities & designing the structure
These days our clients are starting from a wide range of points on their improvement journey. Some have established programmes, some are starting from scratch. Either way, some of the critical areas for improvement will have been identified already, sometimes it’s an exact science, other times it just feels obvious. Our role in both situations is to help prioritise and catalyse these critical areas. We bring an impartial but informed perspective on what it is you’re trying to achieve and then we advise on the best structure to achieve it. This part of our work includes guiding you through reviewing the performance objectives (how will you know if you’re successful – just feeling like things are better is not sufficient!). It also includes the establishment and review of sponsorship, project management, and organisational structures.
Getting the right people involved in the right things
If you need to put together a core team of people, we can help you select the appropriate people, not only for delivering projects but also for the support infrastructure: sponsorship, project management and facilitation.
Helping them develop the skills to do it for themselves
When it comes to skills development, there’s no one better able than PMI to ensure that you have a learning and development programme that delivers excellence. We have invested more in our learning systems than any other company in our field, we know and love learning, and we have what we call a “rich” approach to training; which is why 98% of our delegates would recommend PMI’s training to a colleague, a fact we’re rightly proud of.
Staying in control and knowing the status of your programme
As a programme develops and grows is becomes vital to keep track of progress. We can help you setup steering teams capable of asking and answering the questions “when is a change an improvement, and how will we know when a change has resulted in an improvement?”.
Managing knowledge you gain from your improvement programmes
A key challenge when you generate enthusiasm across the organisation and get an increasing demand for more and more Improvement projects is to capture and utilise the learning that the projects generate. We help individuals and teams understand what they’ve achieved and communicate it across the organisation, and avoid “reinventing the wheel”.
