Dennis talks Production Efficiency at House Builder conference
Author: Dennis Crommentuijn-Marsh
Last week one of our Director Consultants, Dennis Crommentuijn-Marsh, presented on Production Efficiency at the annual Directors Conference of PMI client – one of the largest house-building companies in the UK.
This was the second year running that Dennis has spoken at one of this client’s conferences. The audience included all the Production Directors, the COO, and selected cross-functional people representing Logistics, HSE, IT, Customer Care, Sales and HR.
Dennis shared the latest findings of the third programme that PMI has run for this client: “Production Efficiency”, looking at how to build houses faster (efficiency) while improving quality (effectiveness).
The 45-minute presentation focused on the analysis of key data resulting from an in-depth assessment on how they run their production sites across the entire country, from the Southern Counties to West Scotland.
During the next few weeks, internal workshops will be held to identify the “so what”, generating insights and next steps to test out new ways of working.
There were some good questions and surprises around some of the statistics that Dennis shared.
A senior group director commented on the data shared by Dennis, “this is brilliant, and shows the power of bringing in an external company to see the things we don’t”.
Dennis is equally appreciative of the client commenting, “This is a brilliant company to work with. All their people are driven to deliver the best results they can and we have created a genuine trust relationship between us. This has made it easier to gain deeper insights into what is going well, and what is getting in the way. We are all looking forward to the outcomes of the workshops to make the company more efficient and effective”.
